BanskoActivities offer excursions to monasteries and wine regions in South western Bulgaria and border hopping to Northern Greece for caves and archaeological sites.

Two of the most famous being, the Rozhen which is one of the oldest, and the Rila which is one of the biggest and most elaborate with brightly coloured murals depicting scenes from the bible.

Archaeological site of Philippi, Greece.

The whole site is totally captivating and leaves you wanting to know more.  The site boasts a working amphitheatre (used in summer for plays and concerts) plus the ancient ruins of the town which are really well preserved. The sheer size of this site is amazing. 

Caves, Greece.

Whether the cave of Agittis carved out by a river (which still flows through it) or the Alistrati cave with its huge stalegtites and stalagmites both caves are well worth a visit.
