Monasteries:
Two of the most famous being, the Rozhen which is one of the oldest,
and the Rila which is one of the biggest and most elaborate with
brightly coloured murals depicting scenes from the bible. Both of
which are working monasteries, where the monks can be seen going
about their everyday lives.
Mineral springs:
Bulgaria is second only to Japan in the amount of mineral springs
(both hot & cold). Just one example of how the Bulgarians put these
to good use can be seen just 5kms from Bansko where they have a
modern open air mineral pool.
Geyser:
The only one in mainland continental Europe. Blowing 10
metres high every 5 to 6 secs, at a temperature of 104 deg C, which
